TN redraws borders of Kanchi, Nagai

Chennai, Nov. 19: The state government has expanded the limits of Kanchipuram and Karur municipalities. Sevilimedu town panchayat and three village panchayats — Orikkai, Thenambakkam and Nathapettai have been merged with the Kanchipuram municipality.
The municipal administration and water supply department have also expanded the limits of Karur. Inam-Karur municipality, Thanthoni municipality and Senapiratty village panchayat are part of Karur town now. Similarly, Asaaripallam town panchayat, Peruvilai, Vadakku Soorankudi, Gandhipuram and Kariyamanickapuram village panchayats have been brought into Nagercoil municipality limits.
