Vacate flats, say housing board officials
The Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) has asked the occupants of flats under the Tamil Nadu Government Rental Housing Scheme to vacate the same on or before April 30.
TNHB in a release here has said that 1,642 flats on the DFO Compound, SE and SP compound in Race Course, Gandhipuram, Uppilipalayam, Kavundampalayam, and Seeranaickenpalayam were declared unfit to occupy.
These structures would be demolished and a new 2,000-unit housing project would be built at at Kavundampalayam.
Efforts are under way to carry out the project.
