1,000 more 2BHK houses soon in 95 Assembly segments
HYDERABAD:
The state government has accorded permission for construction of 1,000
more houses in each of the 95 Assembly segments, other than Greater
Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area, under 2BHK housing
programme. Special chief secretary (Housing) Chitra Ramachandran issued
orders to this effect on Saturday.
Already, the state government has accorded permission for 400 houses in each Assembly segment, other than GHMC area, in the past.
Later, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced sanction of additional 1,000 houses to each Assembly segment taking the total 2BHK houses in each Assembly segment to 1,400. Accordingly, orders were issued according permission to construct 1,000 additional houses in each segment.
The state government, in all, would construct 2.33 lakh houses under 2BHK programme. One lakh houses will come up in GHMC area and another 1.33 lakh houses with 1,400 houses in each Assembly segment, will be constructed outside the GHMC area. The funds for 2BHK houses are available from PMAY (G) and Housing for All schemes of the Central government.The entire programme in both rural and urban areas, other than GHMC, will be implemented in all the districts by the respecive district collectors. The officials concerned will release subsidy for these houses from budget provision of 2017-18 as and when the need arises.
