SMS for faulty streetlights

NAGAPATTINAM: The Nagapattinam Municipality has come up with a short message servicing initiative to remedy public complaints against non-functioning streetlights.
CSL (complaint street light) should be messaged along with the Ward Number and the Pole Number of the dysfunctional street light as CSL (Ward No) (Pole No) to 88705 25266. The SMS would be simultaneously directed to the electrician of the ward and the Assistant Engineer of the Municipality.
The facility envisages rectification of the problem within three days. In the event of non-rectification, the SMS would be directed to the Municipal Engineer. The facility has been initiated on a pilot basis to remedy street light complaints initially, says K.Sivakumar, Municipal Commissioner, Nagapattinam. The number is not toll free.
The facility was inaugurated here at the Municipality on Thursday by Chairperson Chandra Mohan.
