Potable water for the residents was being distributed by implementing various water supply schemes by making use of water from Mukkadal dam, Tamirabarani river at Kuzuthurai, Valliyaru, Pazhayaru.

Various projects

On par with the increasing population in the district, the Government was exploring ways and means for the implementation of various drinking water projects.

The integrated drinking water project to provide potable water to the people in the coastal areas of the district had already been completed and supply would be commenced at the earliest.

Moreover it had also been decided to provide adequate potable water to the residents of Azagiyapandipuram village panchayat, 8 town panchayats and 249 way-side habitations within Kanyakumari Assembly segment.
