Master plan discussed

HYDERABAD: The third meeting of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) Executive Committee on Wednesday discussed the steps to be taken for preparation of the Master Plan for its extended area covering Ranga Reddy, Medak, Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar districts apart from Hyderabad.

Suggestions for integrating the land use planning with transportation network in addition to infrastructure network and conservation issues on lakes, greenery, natural rocks and heritage buildings were provided by the experts.

Separate power point presentations on planning aspects for the extended area, core area Master Plan and on Traffic and Transportation were made by the consultants Centre for Environment Planning and Technology (CEPT), ADAPT Technologies and Prof. Raghava Chary.

The Annual Accounts for 2008-09 were also approved to enable commencement of statutory audit by Accountant General at the meeting attended by B.P. Acharya, HMDA Commissioner, Sameer Sarma, GHMC Commissioner, B. Prasada Rao, APSRTC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, A.K. Khan, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, M.T. Krishna Babu, HMWSSB Managing Director, Navin Mittal, Hyderabad District Collector and others.

GHMC seeks suggestions on revised master plan

 

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is going to hold a series of meetings with stakeholders on the Revised Draft Master Plan for Core Area (erstwhile MCH area) of the HMDA in Seven Circles from Jan 23.

The Revised Plan along with Draft Zoning and Development Promotion Regulations was notified for suggestions so that they could be made more citizen-friendly and practical. The GHMC is making arrangements for the consultation process with the citizens for receiving suggestions and objections.

The following is the schedule of the programme circlewise: Circle 4 & 5: January 23 from 22.30 PM to 05.30 PM at Sana Gardens Function Hall, Opp Sardar Mahal, Charminar. Cirle 9: January 30 from 02.30 PM to 05.30 PM at Salwa Gardens, 6 No. X Roads, Amberpet. Circle 7: February 3 from 02.30 PM to 05.30 PM at Saleem Mansion Function Hall, Near Wood Bride Hotel, Masab Tank. Circle 10: February 6 from 02.30 PM to 05.30 PM at the Centre for Economics & Social Studies (CESS), Behind Lal Bungalow, Ameerpet.

Circle 8: February 9 from 02.30 PM to 05.30 PM at Victory Play Ground Indoor Hall, Chadherghat Road. Circle 18: February 11 from 02.30 PM to 05.30 PM at Hari Hara Kala Bhawan, Secunderabad.

Meetings on draft master plan

HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will be organising stakeholder consultations with the general public, elected representatives, non-governmental organisations and other interested parties on the recently notified draft master plan for the capital from January 23 to February 11, once a week. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) which has put up the draft revised plan for the erstwhile Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH), along with draft zoning and development promotion regulations for public discussion, has requested GHMC to organise the meetings for taking in suggestions and objections.

GHMC Commissioner Sameer Sharma in an official communiqué explained that the consultations in all the old circles of the core capital region was meant to make the master plan “citizen-friendly” and “more practical”.

Schedule

Following is the schedule and all meetings will be held from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

Jan. 23 – Sana Gardens Function Gall, opp. Sardar Mahal, Charminar for circles four and five; Jan. 30 – Salwa Gardens, six number crossroads, Amberpet; for circle nine; Feb. 3 - Saleem Mansion Function Hall, near Woodbridge Hotel, Masab Tank for circle seven; Feb. 6 - Centre for Economics & Social Studies, behind Lal Bungalow, Ameerpet for circle nine.

Feb. 9 – Victory Playground indoor hall, Chanderghat road for circle eight and Feb. 11 – Harihara Kala Bhavan, Secunderabad for circle 18.
