Surplus budget for Adoor municipality

PATHANAMTHITTA: The Adoor municipality’s annual budget for 2009-10 envisages an income of Rs.14,30,25,051 and an expenditure of Rs.14,03,62,000, leaving a surplus of Rs.26,63,051.
The budget was presented by municipal vice-chairman A.K. Krishnankutty at the council meet presided over by chairperson Jessy Baby Palavila on Monday.
A total of Rs.1 crore had been earmarked for road development and Rs.5 crore for the Parakode market complex.
The budget also sets apart Rs.35 lakh for housing, Rs.15 lakh for education, Rs.10 lakh for town electrification, Rs.5 lakh each for a veterinary polyclinic and krishi bhavan.
