148-cr. budget for Kadapa civic body

KADAPA: Kadapa Municipal Corporation general body meeting passed an annual budget of Rs. 148 crore for 2009-10 on Monday. Kadapa Mayor P. Ravindranath Reddy and councillors approved the budget. The corporation projected revenue accruals of Rs. 19.50 crore and Rs. 12.94 crore of capital grants.

It estimated revenue expenditure of Rs. 28.72 crore and capital expenses of Rs. 12.47 crore.

The allocations made were Rs. 50 lakh for drinking water supply, Rs. 1.10 crore for purchase of new motors, Rs. 60 lakh for constructing drains, Rs. 25 lakh for roads, Rs. 1.15 crore for central lighting and street-lighting and Rs. 2 crore for developing slum areas.

An outlay of Rs. 88.64 crore was made for roads, drains and drinking water supply in Indiramma housing colonies at Azadnagar and Mamillapalle. In addition, Rs. 1 crore was allocated for providing basic amenities in the low-lying Mrutyunjayakunta and Buggavanka areas.
