THANJAVUR: K.Ashok Vardhan Shetty, Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration and S.Ramasundaram, Principal Secretary, PWD, on Wednesday inspected various places in Thanjavur town, where development works are to be taken up in view of the Millennium celebrations of the Big Temple to be held on September 25 and 26.
They held discussions with the officials on the works to be done including the Grand Anicut Canal where beautification of banks is to be taken up, old and Thiruvaiyaru bus stands where improvements are to be done, Samanthankulam which is to be desilted and renovated, the bridge across Grand Anicut canal near Big Temple which is to be widened, old buildings in Rajah Mirasudhar Hospital and Raja Rajan Mani Mandapam, which are to be renovate
