Collector distributes assistance worth Rs. 14.7 lakh

DHARMAPURI: Collector P. Amutha distributed Rs. 14.70 lakh assistance to 69 beneficiaries under various welfare schemes at the grievance meeting held at the collectorate here on Monday.

During the programme, she distributed old-age pension orders to four farm labourers, Rs. 43,000 to 9 persons under the Tamil Nadu Farm Labourers and Farmers Social Protection scheme, Rs. 2,87,500 as assistance for natural death to 23 persons, Rs. 3.75 lakh as accident relief to 3 persons and autorickshaws to 5 persons, including a woman, under the THADCO assistance with Rs. 25,000 as subsidy and term loan of Rs. 4.75 lakh.

Later, she along with the District Revenue Officer Maheshwari Ravikumar travelled in an autorikshaw driven by a woman.

During the grievances day meeting, over 400 petitions were received demanding patta, family card, free house site patta, community certificate, medical assistance, old-age pension, marriage assistance, education loan and employment etc.

Special Deputy Tahsildhar (Grievances Redressal section) T. Rajmohan, Lead Bank Manager D. Bama, Regional Transport Officer M. Gunasekaran, Ex-servicemen Welfare Assistant Director V. Manivannan and THADCO District Manager A. Santhakumari participated.
