Officials attached to Vaniyambadi municipality seized around 100 kg
of poor quality plastic products during a surprise raid at business
establishments here on Wednesday.

An official team headed by
Commissioner in-charge A Ravi conducted the raid against plastics below
40 microns, at Vaniyambadi Bus Stand, C L Road and other market areas.
The raid was conducted in around 50 shops including a few plastic
wholesale outlets.

Ravi said,“Poor quality plastics including
carry bags, tea cups and plates that were below 40 microns were seized.
No fine was levied, but shopkeepers were warned not to use such plastic
products.”
