126 town planner posts to be created
BHUBANESWAR: The State Government will create 126 town planner posts.This was decided at a high-level meeting presided over by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Secretariat here today. More town planners have become a necessity in view of the growing population in every town and their expansion.
The new posts will be filled up through new appointments or outsourcing as per requirement. The town planners will be posted in urban local bodies (ULBs), development authorities, improvement trusts and directorate of town planning.
Besides, it was decided that 222 more posts of junior engineers, draftsmen and amin will be created for the ULBs. Finance Minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadei, Minister of State for Urban Development Badri Narayan Patro, Chief Secretary Bijay Kumar Patnaik, Additional Development Commissioner RN Senapati and senior officials attended the meeting.
