At the initiative of Collector Akash Tripathi and Gwalior Municipal Corporation, as many as 14 Jan Mitra centres have been established in the city limits to resolve problems pertaining to as many as 33 departments.
These centres address problems faced by residents, within a strict time limit, said Mayor Sameeksha Gupta and municipal commissioner NPS Rajput while addressing a joint Press conference here on Monday.
The Jan Mitra centres extend citizen services like building permissions, domestic water connections, birth and death certificates, ration cards, below poverty line cards, social security pension, income and caste certificates, supply of LPG gas cylinder, shifting of transformer among others.
Strict timelines have been fixed for each of the services provided by the centres, which require citizens to apply for the services using a prescribed format and enclosing a checklist of documents for each of the services.
An officer-in-charge, a Jan Mitra assistant, a computer operator and a Class IV employee would be deployed at the centre and their presence at the facility would be registered using a biometric solution.
Rajput also inspected several Government offices and buildings and issued directives for their upkeep and maintenance.
