As many as 20 electric motors used for drawing water illegally were
seized in the past two days, during a series of raids conducted at
various places in the city.

Even after summer, Vellore city
continued to witness protests and road rokosin which most of the
residents pointed out that the poor supply of water was due to the usage
of electric motors in the adjacent areas, for stealing water.

Following
this, as per the orders of the Corporation Commissioner P Janaki
Raveendran, the officials of local body conducted raids on Thursday and
Friday and seized 20 electric motors  for illegally drawing water.
