27 BBMP engineers transferred
On the directions of the Election Commissioner, the
Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has transferred 27 engineers
who have completed more than three years in a single post.
According
to the code of conduct in place ahead of polling on May 5, the
government has to transfer officials who have served more than three
years in a single post. This is done to prevent any influence on the
officials by local politicians, a source said.
According
to a communiqué on Saturday, among those transferred are chief
engineers P.S. Ramesh, M.G. Srinivas, K. Ramesh, K. Jagannath and
Hanumanth Reddy.
