4,430 civic posts will be filled:Minister

Amalapuram: Minister for Municipal Administration Anam Ramanarayana Reddy has announced that the State Government has decided to fill 4,430 new posts in municipalities in the State shortly and 1,400 posts will be filled in first phase.
Addressing a civic reception by Amalapuram Municipality on Wednesday, he said that the State government was going to get Rs.12,500 crores from the Centre for the development of municipalities through 12th Finance Commission and he had asked 98 municipalities, which were not having their own buildings, to spend Rs.50 lakhs to Rs.1 crore for the construction of new buildings.
He said that the Union Urban Development Ministry was going to get Rs.16,000 crores of World Bank loan and the State government will get its share out of this loan in the coming months.
The Minister said that according to a survey, the exodus to urban areas was increasing every year and there was an increase of 35 per cent in urban areas compared to 10 per cent earlier.
Responding to the requests made by the local representatives and MLAs, Mr. Ramnarayana Reddy said that the State government had given Rs.13.50 crores to Amalapuram Municipality and discussed the issue of development of parks and a by-pass road with ONGC.
Ministers Pilli Subashchandra Bose, Botcha Satyanararyana, Pinipe Viswaroop, ZP Chairman Ch. Venugopalakrishna, Collector M. Ravichandra, Municipal Chairman N. Adivishnu, former minister Metla Satyanarayana, MLA Rapaka Varaprasad, Ponnada Satish, Pamula Rajeswari and others participated in the programme.
