6 nominations for VMC standing panel polls
Six nominations, including two female and four male were
filed for the elections of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation’s Standing
Committee members.
The elections will be held on
September 15 at the Council Hall (Main office), Jawaharlal Nehru
Buildings in thge city from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A total
of six members would be elected to the Standing Committee and every
voter shall have as many votes as there were members to be elected to
the committee.
Last day for filing the nomination
forms was Sunday and authorities will be scrutinising them on Monday at
Additional Commissioner’s (General) office in the VMC main office.
Similarly,
the last date for withdrawal is September 11 and the final list of
contesting candidates will be published on the same day. The counting of
votes will be held on September 15 and results will also be declared on
September 15, according to a press release.
