60 stray cattle moved out of city
The civic body sent 10 trucks of cows along with fodder and first-aid facilities. A cattle catcher accompanied each truck and two officers were sent for proper supervision.
The civic body will make a one-time payment of Rs 2,000 for each cow,
and thereafter it will be NGO’s responsibility to look after the cattle.
Sources in the MC said cattle will be sent to two more NGOs – one in
Garshankar, Punjab and another one in Vrindavan. There are over 1,000
stray cattle in the city that need to be sent outside, as it doesn’t
have any place to accommodate them.
The work of shifting
the cattle took an aggressive turn after the death of a resident in the
southern area of the city few days ago due to a collision with stray
cattle late night.
