City roads to be named after freedom fighters
PATNA: Bihar government has decided to rename 50-odd roads of Patna after freedom fighters and state’s prominent personalities.
According to official sources, state road construction department ministerPrem Kumar has issued a directive to the department’s officials in this regard. The minister’s directive also contains a list of the roads which have to be renamed. They include Dak Bungalow Road, New Dak Bungalow Road, Sinha Library Road, Hardinge Road, Station Road, the road around Gandhi Maidan, Civil Court link road, Kankarbagh main road, Rajendra Nagar overbridge road and Rajendra Nagar east and west civil lanes.
Roads running through various localities have also to be renamed. They include Karbigahiya road, Mithapur bus stand road, Nala Road, Kankarbagh roads (numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4), Gayatri Mandir road, Bhootnath link road, Saidpur road, Kankarbagh L sector road, Postal Park road, north and south Hardinge road, Circular Road, Patna City-Khajekalan road and Ashiana-Patliputra road.
