Palike comes up with guidelines for immersion
Ulsoor Lake, Sankey Tank, Yediyur Lake and Saneguruvanahalli Lake have specially- designed ponds for immersion.
The statues must be immersed only in these designated areas.
The Palike has also identified 22 other lakes in the new wards for the immersion purposes. Following are the instructions * Only designated entry points should be used to access lakes.
All items used for pooja, such as flowers and fruits, must be put in a bin placed at the entrance.
There will be a queue to ensure no jostling and pushing occurs. People will have to follow the instructions of the police and the Palike officials present there.
People are advised not to buy statues with chemicals and harmful paints to ensure that water bodies are not polluted.
Loudspeakers will be banned near the immersion areas.
No immersions will be allowed after 10.30 pm.
All necessary precautions will be taken to ensure that it is a safe festival for the city, said the Palike.
