Warangal Mayor denies allegations

HYDERABAD: Warangal Mayor Errabelli Swarna has denied allegations that she and corporators were pressing Municipal Commissioner to sanction works so that they can earn commission and also that they are transferring Commissioners under political pressure. Responding to a report published in these columns on September 6, she described the allegations as ‘without any basis’. Referring to the ‘ambitious’ commercial complex near Ashoka Theatre, Hanamkonda, she refuted the charge that it was being neglected. The corporation proposal for completion of the project was pending with the Government and the transfers of Commissioners was Government’s prerogative.
