‘Meet the Corporator,’ voice your grievances
Bangalore, Sept 16, DH News Service:
The Deccan Herald and Prajavani have organised a unique ‘Meet the Corporator’programme on September 18, wherein residents of Doddanekkundi ward can interact with elected representatives and air their multiple civic problems.
Officials from various departments will be present at the Government Higher Primary School ground at Doddanekkundi from 10 am to 1 pm.
Higher Education Minister and Mahadevapura MLA Aravind Limbavali; the area Corporator Sridhar Reddy N R; ACP ML Martin Alvares; Nagabhushan, Executive Engineer from Bescom; M Rajashekar, Executive Engineer (East) from BDA; Vishwanath K S, Chief Traffic Manager from BMTC; B Heera Nayak, Joint Commissioner, BBMP; Venkataraju, Chief Engineer from BWSSB; Shiva Kumar, Tahsildhar from Revenue Department, and Nanjundaiah, BEO will be present to address various problems of residents.
Doddanekkundi (Ward No 85) comes under the Mahadevapura Assembly Constituency, which was earlier a City Municipal Council (CMC) and now comes under the BBMP. Even though, the ward is lucrative considering its real estate value, it lacks basic infrastructure such as roads, underground drainage system and regular water supply.
Depletion
As more than 80 percent of the residents depend on borewells, the groundwater table has been over exploited. The depletion of groundwater table is so alarming that water is not available even at 1,000 ft deep.
Rejuvenating Doddanekkundi Lake, two Chinnappanahalli Lakes, Kundalahalli Lake and Sitaram Palya lakes seems to be the top priority of Corporator Sridhar Reddy. Laying of roads, installing of street lights, creating public toilets and providing drinking water facilities are other development projects to be undertaken.
