A day’s salary of negligent BMC staff deductedPNS | Bhubaneswar
BMC Commissioner Visal Dev on Thursday directed to deduct a day’s salary of three employees as they were seen neglecting in performing their duties. The three persons include a sanitary inspector, a sanitary supervisor and a sweeper.
The Commissioner moved to two wards to view the sanitation works that have been going on to keep the city clean. Dev marked that the aforesaid three persons remained absent though they were entrusted for the day’s work.
It is to be noted that out of total 60 wards, while the BMC has handed over sanitation works of 40 wards to private contractors and the rest 20 wards have been kept under it. He has said that if any BMC employee or private contractor neglects doing sanitation work would be punished as per rule.
