They were on deputation to the palike
Bangalore: The High Court of Karnataka on Thursday directed three Deputy Commissioners of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to return to their parent departments. The three officials were on deputation to the BBMP from various departments.
On a petition filed by Venkatachalapathy and others, the court directed the three officials — Rame Gowda, M. Ramakrishna and K.H. Raju — to voluntarily return to their parent departments.
Justice Ram Mohan Reddy, who heard the case, found fault with the deputation of the three personnel who were engineers in various other departments. He directed the State Government to pass an order stating that the three personnel in question will be repatriated to their respective departments.
The three officials gave an undertaking in writing to the court stating that they will return to their parent departments. Dr. Rame Gowda, who was a Deputy Director at the Registrar of Co-operative Societies, was DC (Public Grievance) at the BBMP; Mr. Ramakrishna, a Project Engineer at Karnataka State Finance Commission (KSFC), was DC (Bommanahalli), while Mr. Raju, who was Executive Engineer (EE) at KSFC, was DC (East).
