Coucillors ‘resign’ from standing committees
Sources said they were unhappy with their portfolio.
Unconfirmed reports doing rounds on Tuesday said four councillors resigned from their position in respective standing committees.
The councillors who have reportedly tendered their resignations are M Muniraju of Yelahanka Satellite Town, Y N Ashwath of Kempe Gowda, K N Geetha Shashikumar of Attur and K V Yeshoda of Chowdeshwari.
Reports said they have submitted their resignations to MLA of Yelahanka constituency S R Vishwanath.
But Mayor S K Nataraj, the MLA and the four councillors have denied the reports. Nataraj has also reportedly said he would accept the resignations if councillors were unhappy with the committees and others would be given a chance to service in their place.
The councillors are reportedly unhappy to be in Appeals or Horticulture committee. Ashwath is said to have said he had requested the MLA to get him transferred to another committee.
