Protect vacant municipal sites, Mayor tells officials

VISAKHAPATNAM: Mayor Pulusu Janardhana Rao on Friday directed
municipal officials to erect a fence or construct a boundary wall to
protect the vacant sites in various wards.
During his visit to Ward 9, he said the road at LIC Quarters should
be widened to 60 feet and a community hall and park developed at the
vacant site near the tennis court at HB Colony.
He also saw the work taken up under ‘Sweekaram’ with the help of CMR group.
Encroachments, if any, by a shopping complex on Krishna College Road
should be removed, the Mayor said. A boundary wall should be constructed
around the dobhighat there. At Isukathota Junction, a park should be
developed on a site abutting the highway. Corporator A.S.N. Raju, chief
city planner D. Venkataratnam and assistant city planner Lakshmana Rao
participated.
