Mayor wants her office to be as secure
She held a review meeting on Thursday with the GHMC commissioner Sameer Sharma and other officials in this regard. GHMC officials said that presently 16 Special Protection Force, 45 private security personnel and 4 to 5 Home Guards were presently employed in the GHMC.
To strengthen the security, Karthika Reddy said a letter would be written soon to the commissioner of police, with a request to fill up the vacant posts of additional superintendent of police, 2 sub-inspectors and a platoon of the Andhra Pradesh Special Police. It has also been decided that necessary passes would be issued to all GHMC vehicles for easy identification.
No private vehicle would be allowed inside the GHMC office and visitors have to park their vehicle outside and enter the office duly obtaining passes. Additional commissioner (IT) would be monitoring the system at both gates. All GHMC staff members and officers would be required to show their identity cards to security personnel before entering the office.
Additional commissioner (Vigilance), circle inspector (Vigilance) and other senior security officials attended the meeting.
