VMC holds bankers’ meet
The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation on Wednesday convened a meeting
with bankers to ask them to come forward to sanction loans to
beneficiaries identified under SJSRY.
Municipal Commissioner G. Ravi Babu said as many as
6,000 beneficiaries were identified under the SJSRY scheme. The banks
should sanction loans to some beneficiaries by January 17 as pilot
project. All the schemes of the State government should be grounded
before January 26, he said, adding, the Urban Community Development
(UCD) wing of the Corporation should ensure that the loans sanctioned to
the Self Help Groups (SHGs) were repaid in time so that new groups
could be sanctioned loans.
