State bags JNNURM awards
The Andhra Pradesh State government and the Greater Hyderabad
Municipal Corporation received awards for the ‘best implementation of
reforms pertaining to governance’ and ‘best city for outstanding effort
to attain slum free status’ from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and
Union Minister for Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation Shelja,
respectively, at New Delhi on Tuesday.
Minister for Municipal
Administration M. Maheedhar Reddy, MA&UD Secretary Vijaykumar, Mayor
B. Kartika Reddy and GHMC Commissioner M.T. Krishna Babu, received the
awards during the national conference of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban
Renewal Mission (JNNURM), a release said.
