Over 70 illegal structures razed in demolition drive
It’s part of the plan to widen the Dargah road in Bijapur
The district administration began demolition of illegal structures on Dargah road here on Monday.
The move has been taken up to widen the existing road and facilitate smooth vehicular movement.
Encroachments
The
demolition drive began at 7.30 a.m. and more than 70 houses and
commercial outlets that had encroached upon public land were razed.
Four light weight machines were pressed into service, amidst opposition from the local people.
The operation was carried out under tight police security.
