Rs.3,500 crore earmarked for development works
Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has earmarked Rs.3,500 crore
for implementing various development works in the district. All these
works are progressing at a fast pace, said K.A.Jayapal, Fisheries
Minister.
Speaking at a function to declare open new
building for the fair price shop at ward No.26 here recently, Mr.Jayapal
said the new premises has been constructed from his local area
development fund and also from the Nagapattinam municipality.
The
Minister said that the government has taken utmost care in providing
quality products through the fair price shops to the public.
He
explained the welfare schemes being implemented by the State government
for the benefit of weaker sections of the society and called upon
people to extend a helping hand for the successful implementation of the
programmes.
M. Asia Mariyam, District Revenue Officer, explained the various development works in progress in the district.
