Drive to sterilise stray dogs launched
The City Corporation has launched a special drive to sterilise stray
dogs in the city. The week-long drive has been taken up based on
requests from the councillors and the public seeking steps to curb the
stray dog menace, Corporation Commissioner V.P. Thandapani said in a
release. Steps have also been taken to identify stray rabies-infected
dogs and remove them from the city, he said. Earlier, Mr. Thandapani
inspected the facility at Marakkadai where the sterilisation of dogs was
being done. City Engineer S.Raja Mohamed and Executive Engineer
S.Arunachalam were present.
