Corporators urged to improve civic amenities in BCC
Mekala Eshwar Reddy, president of Yuva Sena, a social
organisation based in the city, has urged the Congress, which has gained
absolute majority in the Bellary City Corporation (BCC), to take up
developmental works and respond to the problems of the poor and needy.
“I
would like to remind them that it is not the Congress’s victory. It is
the people’s victory as they chose the Congress over the BSR Congress,
which had failed to fulfil people’s basic civic needs. Keeping that in
view we hope that the corporators would initiate steps to improve basic
amenities, besides taking up developmental works,” he said while talking
to presspersons here on Tuesday.
Mr. Reddy claimed
that the change was mainly due to the ward-wise paadayatra undertaken by
him and his supporters to create awareness among the people to elect
good candidates on one hand and also to document the problems in each
ward.
He said his organisation would continue its
endeavour besides bringing civic issues to the notice of the elected
representatives.
