Water supply yet to be restored
The disruption in water supply to several areas in the
city, which began from 2 p.m. on Saturday and was supposed to be
restored by 8 p.m. on Sunday, is likely to be restored completely only
before noon on Monday. Officials said the pipe interconnection works
undertaken near the Thakaraparambu flyover project area, which was why
the supply had to be shut down, were yet to be over and might be
completed by Monday morning only, after which the supply would be
restored.
The areas that were affected included
Chala, Manacaud, East Fort, Kamaleshwaram, Ambalathara, Eenchakkal,
Vallakadavu, Beemapally, Shangumughom, Poonthura, Pattoor, Pettah,
Chakka, All Saints area, Karikkakam, Palkulangara, Sreekandeshwaram,
Veli, Anayara, Oruvathilkota, and Kannammoola among others.
