Foundation stone for 3 flyovers this month
Tenders to be called for storm water drain repair work soon.
Mayor Mohd. Majid Hussain on Monday said foundation
stones would be laid for flyovers at Tolichowki, Moghal ka Nala and
Kishan Bagh

within a fortnight or so.
After discussing the
pending stormwater drain repair works and other projects with GHMC
Commissioner M.T. Krishna Babu, Engineer-in-chief R. Dhan Singh and
other senior officials, Mr. Hussain called for status reports on the
delayed works of the Murki

, Kandikal Gate road over bridge as also the Bilalnagar Bridge. The
Mayor called for immediate tendering of works worth Rs.222 crore for
completing work on the drains.
Earlier in the day,
the Commissioner briefed the Mayor about the meeting with Chief Minister
N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and said the proposal for a separate land
acquisition unit for the stormwater drains work was cleared.
Enhancing
tender premiums to 10 per cent from the current five per cent and a
housing unit in the ongoing Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal
Mission housing schemes for those affected in road widening too have
been cleared, he said.
Mr. Hussain also asked Mr.
Krishna Babu to furnish Google Earth maps on the full tank levels (FTLs)
prepared by the Irrigation Department during the peak monsoon seasons
so that proper boundaries can be earmarked.
‘Park land encroached’
Meanwhile,
a complaint about a designated park land being encroached at
Sanjeeviahnagar, Lalapet, was filed during the weekly ‘Prajavani’
programme chaired by Special Commissioner Navin Mittal. The complainant,
Abdul Saleem, alleged that 650 sq. yards of park land was encroached
upon.
A similar complaint regarding government land
in the same area was made by Dinakar. Mr. Mittal directed Deputy
Commissioner Gangadhar Reddy to look into the complaints. Most
complaints were about unauthorised constructions, which were reported
from Mehdipatnam, Saidabad, Tadbund, Kabutar Khana and few other places.
