New chairperson for Kottakkal municipality
IUML councillor T.V. Sulaikha Beevi assumed office as
chairperson of Kottakkal municipality on Tuesday. She replaced Bushra
Shabeer as per an agreement made within the party.
Deputy Collector for land revenue M.K. Antony administered the oath of office.
The
IUML local leadership had made an agreement when Ms. Shabeer became
chairperson in 2010 that the five-year term of chairperson would be
shared between her and Ms. Beevi.
