6,672 hoardings removed
In a drive undertaken by the district administration
from June 17 to 22 to remove illegal advertisement hoardings in the
city, 6,672 hoardings were removed.
Collector Anshul
Mishra in a press release issued on Sunday said that the drive was
launched to beautify the city and to make sure that the illegal
hoardings do not pose a hindrance to traffic.
With
the intervention of the revenue department and the district officials,
two teams were formed to carry out inspections, he added.
The
release further stated that advertisements on the walls of private
buildings should be cleaned or removed by the building owners and those
on the walls of government buildings should be removed by the necessary
advertisers.
Fines would be imposed if the rules were flouted, the Collector has warned.
