Vuda goes online for transparent services

Visakhapatnam: Vuda
vice-chairman Dr N. Yuvaraj on Wednesday introduced an online facility
for the uploading of applications for approvals and permissions from the
Planning Wing. The process, begun in July, was now being launched fully
in vindication of the announcement he had made on June 20 to extend
transparent and timely service to the people.
The vice
chairman said that applications for building permissions, layout
approvals and change of land use would henceforth be received only
online. People living in areas that come under Vuda’s jurisdiction –
spread over about 573 sq km, covering Srikakulam, Vizianagaram,
Visakhapatnam and East Godavari – may submit applications all their
applications on website www.vuda.gov.in.
The Planning Wing is in
charge of these services in Vuda, besides implementation of Master Plan
provisions, and has an interface with the people on a daily basis on
these matters.
These statutory activities apart, the Planning Wing also deals with Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) applications.
Applications
were being received manually until now, the process of scrutiny and
interpretation by officials at various levels being a time consuming
one.
People remained in the dark about the status of their
applications as it was gradually routed to the chief urban planner and
finally the vice-chairman. Now, the status can be known easily.
