City mayor Majid Hussain on Thursday directed zonal commissioner
(south) Ravi Kiran and additional commissioner (planning) Ronald Rose to
immediately seal the plastic industries situated in the Hassan Nagar
area, which are causing pollution, by taking police protection.
The
Standing Committee, which met under the chairmanship of the mayor,
unanimously resolved to set up a special team consisting of two
assistant commissioners of police and four section officers to monitor
road-widening work and removal of nala encroachments in the south zone.
It
also resolved to constitute a graveyard development committee at the
request of TDP floor leader Singireddy Srinivas Reddy for proper
maintenance of graveyards and for providing incentives to the executive
staff for higher collection of property tax arrears.
The committee
members suggested fencing the Mallepally football ground in place of
the 5-foot-high compound wall to put a check on unlawful activities like
gambling and drugs there.
The meeting approved and accorded
permission to sanction an additional budget of 400 per cent for capital
works and 300 percent for revenue works.
The committee said that
there was a need to increase the capacity of the three slaughterhouses
located at Gowlipura, Ramnasthpura and Amberpet. The officials concerned
were directed to submit proposals within two weeks.
