‘Fit flow control valve in drinking water connections’
The Tirunelveli Corporation has warned that drinking
water connections without flow control valve will be cut without prior
notice after December 15.
An official statement said
the new drinking water scheme for wards 19, 26 and 27 – all under
Melapalayam Zone – was dedicated to the public by Chief Minister
Jayalalithaa recently and domestic and commercial drinking water
connections were being given to those who had paid the deposit and the
charges payable for getting the connection.
Though
the Corporation had announced that flow control valves should be fitted
in every drinking water connection to prevent use of motors, most
consumers had not executed the order.
Hence, those
who were yet to fit the flow control valve should pay the prescribed fee
and fit the valve in the presence of the Junior Engineer before
December 15, the statement warne.
