Special drive to promote systematic waste disposal
The stage is set for the implementation of a multi-focal
action plan envisaging a cleaning programme and cleanliness awareness
campaign in Khammam municipal corporation limits from July 26.
A
Sramadanam
programme encompassing garbage clearance will be conducted in the town
on Saturday, marking the launch of a special drive to promote systematic
disposal of waste and improve greenery in Khammam, according to
official sources.
The uni-focal plan also contains
specific measures to ensure the effective implementation of norms
governing the disposal of waste and imposition of fines for violation of
the rules in force.
The new initiative is aimed at
transforming Khammam into a clean and green city with an
inter-departmental approach by involving all sections including
students, NCC and NSS volunteers.
The action plan was
approved at a meeting held here on Thursday. Collector I. Srinivas Sri
Naresh, Superintendent of Police A.V. Ranganath, Joint Collector K.
