Surat Municipal Corporation medical and cleaning team in Vadodara to help from floods
SURAT:
Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has sent a team of 300 workers to
Vadodara for help in cleaning up of the city after the flood waters
recede. It has also sent three teams of medical and paramedical forces
to help in arising disease spread situation after the waters recede.
Floods engulfed Vadodara city this week and to help the citizens there
Niranjan Janjmera, Surat Mayor had offered help. As a gesture of helping
hand , 300 member strong cleaning workers team equipped with cleaning
equipment’s, disease control medicines, insecticides and other required
material is dispatched.
SMC cleaning team at present is working
in cleaning up Akota area of Vadodara city under the supervision of 6
supervisors. They have 4 trucks, 2 vans, 150 sacks of insecticide
powder, disease control spray and other material at their disposal.
Three teams of medical practitioners including 3 medical officers in
each team with paramedical staff and other people also has reached
Vadodara and would start their work immediately as soon as the area is
assigned to them. “It is our duty to help our brethren in need. Our
teams will give their contribution in cleaning and medical aid wherever
required. “Said Mayor Janjmera.
