GHMC meet on Feb 8 to elect 3 co-opted members
HYDERABAD: The third special meeting of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will be held on February 8 at 11 am in the Council Hall of the head office to elect three co-opted members having special knowledge or experience in municipal administration. One of them should be a member of the Corporation.
Two co-opted members from minorities were elected recently.
GHMC officials told Expresso that about 42 applications have been received but scrutiny could not be taken due to some problems. Some of the applicants were from the erstwhile surrounding municipalities like Uppal and L B Nagar that got merged with the GHMC before completing five years term. But as per the rules, a member should be a corporator with minimum five years of experience.
The GHMC sought clarification from the State Government on the issue.
