Advertisers’ association asks MC commissioner to check illegal hoardings

Ludhiana: Outdoor Advertisers Association on Monday met the MC Commissioner A K Sinha and gave him a memorandum asking him to keep a check on the illegal advertisers and protect the rights of legal media holders.Shavinder Singh, one of the members of the association said the Jalandher MC has banned display of advertisements on private buildings and the Ludhiana MC should follow the same. Private building owners are earning lakhs per month for displaying hoardings on their buildings.
The members pointed out that a reputed advertisement company, which was once black listed by the MC, was now back in business and the corporation was not taking any action against the owner for using bigger size hoarding against the permitted size.
They alleged that several advertisers were displaying advertisement hoardings of much bigger size as compared to the permitted size. Details given by the association are”
