After the slap incident, Mayor restricts entry to MC offices
A day after MC tehbazaari superintendent Rajiv Bhardwaj was slapped
in the face by sweeper Vicky for telling him to ask for permission for
putting up hoardings in the city, Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria on
Wednesday restricted entry to all four offices of MC (Zone A, B, C, D).
The mayor also ordered that an entry register should be
maintained at the gates and every person entering the office should
specify reason for coming and other details like name, address and
contact number.
Talking to Newsline, the mayor said, “I have issued orders on
Wednesday regarding the same as I came to know that the slap incident
was not the first one. Earlier too, MC officials have been misbehaved
with by the outsiders. Now their dignity is of prime importance.
Anybody coming for some work is welcome in MC offices but those who just
come for whiling away the time or show hooliganism are not. Now entry
will be purely restricted and entry registers will be maintained.”
