Airtel fined for illegally digging up city road
BANGALORE: Bharti Airtel has been fined Rs 1.5 lakh for digging up roads in the Mahadevapura zone. BBMP has ordered that any digging up of roads and unauthorised construction of roads were strictly prohibited and any such action will be dealt with sternly.
Airtel had dug up 20 feet of Nellurhalli main road for cable insertion. But they had not taken prior permission, stated a BBMP release. The company was warned against any such unauthorised digging in the future. A tractor that was used for the digging work has been seized.
