All-party meet on civic polls
The city municipal corporation will hold an all-party
meet on identification of BC, SC, ST and women voters at the
Collectorate here on Friday at 9-30am. The meeting intends to solicit
cooperation from all the political parties in completing the exercise.
It was proposed to categorise the voters caste wise and gender wise with
the Assembly electoral rolls as the basis.
The Eluru
Municipal Corporation (EMC) has deputed teams for a door-to-door survey
in all the 50 divisions for correlation of the field level data with
the electoral rolls on identification of the SC, ST, BC and women
voters, according to Commissioner G. Nagaraju. The exercise, which was
initiated on Wednesday, will last till July 5. Drafts will be prepared
with the correlated data and made available in the government offices on
July 8, inviting objections and corrections, if any, from the public.
The pleas for objections will be entertained from July 9 to 12 and the
final lists published on July 19.
