Announcement on water scheme hailed
People from tail-end areas like Peravurani,
Adhirampattinam and Pattukottai in the district have welcomed the
combined drinking water scheme announced by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa
recently. As per the scheme announced by the Chief Minister, Kollidam
combined drinking water scheme will be implemented at a cost of Rs. 125
crore. It will benefit Peravurani, Perumagalur and Adhirampattinam town
panchayats and nearly 1,153 habitations in Pattukottai,
Sethubavachathiram, Peravurani, Madukkur, Papanasam, Thiruvaiyaru,
Thanjavur and Thiruvonam panchayat unions. A total of 5,76,000 people
will be benefited from the scheme. Ten panchayat unions in tail-end
areas will benefit the most from the scheme.
