Army officials in city can be exempted from house tax
Army officials living in the city can be exempted from the
house tax. A proposal in this regard will be discussed in the next house
meeting of Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh.

Former nominated councillor of MCC, Brigadier (Retd) Kuldeep Singh
Chandpuri said that EWS homes were already exempted from house tax when
the proposal was approved by MCC; however no army officials were given
exemption from tax.
Chandpuri said that a letter to the Mayor has been given with a request
to exempt army officials in Chandigarh from house tax and MCC has
decided to take this agenda in the coming monthly house meeting with the
nominated councillors of MCC this month. Meanwhile Chandpuri said that
MCC officials have assured him that the agenda shall be approved.
