Attendance in BBMP poor, yet again
The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike’s Standing Committee for
Establishment and Administrative Reforms had to yet again face poor
attendance and badly maintained records in the BBMP offices here on
Monday. The committee members, who carried out an inspection in the
civic body’s headquarters, came across several such instances, just as
they had in the past.
There was some comfort though. While the overall
attendance during the time of inspection at 10.15 a.m. was 80 per cent,
many officials failed to turn up on time in some departments. In the
BBMP’s Legal Department, though there are 28 officials, only 10 were
present at the time of inspection. Similarly, in the office of the Chief
Accounts Officer, only 21 of the 48 officials were on time.
